With a career spanning some 20 years, Paco Osuna is one of the most renowned artists in the industry. Creativity, courage and a constant search for new means of expression three of his main virtues when it comes to making music.
In 2006 he launched Mindshake, conceived as a platform for the creation and distribution of electronic music. Artists like Alexi Delano, Ambivalent, Barem, Carlo Lio, Fer BR and Paul Ritch have all worked with Mindshake and in recent years the label has become one of the most important techno imprints in the United States.
Also in 2006, Paco founded Club4 in Barcelona. A venue with a fresh concept, Club4 has established itself as the overwhelming choice for its variety and accessibility in electronic music o erings. Artists such as Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, Christian Smith, Dub re, Josh Wink, Loco Dice, Marco Carola, Matthew Dear, Richie Hawtin o Seth Troxler have all been part of the club’s line-up.
With his studio production, Paco is a fertile mind ever evolving and over time has developed his own musical trademark, coating the purest techno sounds with his most characteristic bres: deep, dark and imaginative beats. And that has led him to producing and remixing duties on labels like Minus, Plus8, Analytic Trail, Quartz Rec and 100% Pure, among many others.
As a DJ he is lively, intelligent and sophisticated, with a deep awareness when it comes to sound aesthetics. For Paco, all sessions are important and it is a requirement of his to invent and renew every time he steps onto the stage. Musical monotony has never been an option.
With a full diary every weekend, Paco has performed worldwide at clubs such as Space Ibiza, Fabric, Amnesia, Panorama Bar, Watergate, Cocorico and Pacha NY, as well as a number of festivals, including ADE, DEMF, Awakenings, WMC, BPM, Sonar, EDC, BMP, Cream elds, Tomorrowland and Monegros. In addition, Paco is one of the top artists with his other family, ENTER.
He has also been recognised with several of the most important awards in Spain: Best Artist and Best Techno DJ (Vicious Awards, 2011, 2012 and 2013); Best Producer and Best Remix: Plastikman-Ethnics (DJ Mag 2011). In 2014, he has been nominated for DJ Awards’ Best Techno artist.
Driven by continuous evolution and guided by a great passion for what he does, in October 2014 Paco Osuna returns to his alma mater, Minus, with an LP entitled Long Play — eight precision tracks, purpose-built for the dance oor in his own inimitable style.
Long Play is a meeting point between Paco Osuna’s past and his future, a product of almost 20 years behind the decks—from early residencies at Amnesia in the late ‘90s, to an integral role in Richie Hawtin’s current ENTER. events at Space—and a push forward for techno, house, minimal and tech-house, Long Play’s sleek and exuberant tracks are thread together by Osuna’s always- addictive basslines. “The bassline is my obsession,” he says. “The key ingredient to making picture-perfect techno and playing incredible, un aggingly energetic DJ sets.”
