Daniel Sanchez Daniel Sanchez

biography
Daniel Sanchez is from Amsterdam and has his roots in Spain because of his father. He is a real millipede in constant development and has an accurate nose for good and future progressive music. Besides his own events Bla Bla and Rotzooii, which are always fully sold out, he is also a successful DJ, producer and owner of the Bla Bla record label. His Bla Bla events are held every last Saturday of the month in the club with Amsterdam’s best sound, Studio80. Here he programs the newest and coolest artists of the moment, from Dub to Techno and every progressive style that lies in between. The Bla Bla label works with this same vision and is runned with the same drive and passion as his event productions. All of this with one purpose only, gaining international fame for his label and his events. As a DJ he has already acquired great popularity because of his memorable dj-sets that made the audience go crazy. After the sweet summer hit he had with Kabale und Liebe the production engine really started working. ‘Mumbling Yeah’ has been remixed by Loco Dice, Marco Carola and Paco Osuna. All this became to be just the setting for the beginning of a rich variation of more releases to come. His live-act ‘Gimikk’, in cooperation with Eelco Augenstijn is a refined and innovative dancefloor project. The album ‘Untitled Concept’ on the Remote Area label will be in stores June 2009. The tracks on this album can be listened to every single moment of the day and are a real treat to the ears. On the other hand, their releases on Remote Area and Area Remote (such as ‘Poppop’ and ‘Dancing on the Stars’) are pretty catchy and dancefloor orientated. As Gimikk, Daniel Sanchez and Eelco Augestijn also did remixes for a track by Detroit Grand Pubahs in cooperation with one of the members of the Wu Tang Clan and for the famous hit by Nicolette, a former singer of Massive Attack. Besides this, the duo also releases under the name of Cirkel. Cirkel is a dub series containing six releases and can be described as something totally opposite to another project they do called Badboys. On his own, Daniel Sanchez also resides under the alias ‘De La Pimp’ a ghetto house project. All these projects prove that Daniel Sanchez indeed is a grand multi-musical talent. In a relatively short period he has developed himself as a producer on various levels in electronic dance music. His development as a musical millipede will surely not decline in the future. His passion for electronic dance music is so big, that the future will bring so much more by this man.
