biography
Her electrifying presence behind the decks always incites people to dance non-stop, and to share their energy. Daria's sets consist of four to the floor, warm and sexy modern dance music. She doesn't like to walk through marked and secure musical paths, but instead likes to build wild, new, and precise roads that enchant the audience.
Daria was born in Geneva into a swiss-iranian family, and she grew up in an influential artistic and creative environment. In 1989, with 15 years old, Daria interested herself for the music world. First, she formed a band influenced by the new wave sound, with two other musicians also from Geneva.
Later she became graphic designer and did some art covers for international labels such as Mental Groove and Get Physical. Few years after she started spinning records. And since 2002 she was resident dj at Weetamix Club in Geneva, along with Luciano and Sonja Moonear, where she played with artists such as Ricardo Villalobos, Carl Craig, Daniel Bell, Derrick May, Richie Hawtin and many more.
Nowadays she plays for different famous venues like Week12end, Watergate and Bar25 in Berlin, Harry Klein in Munich, Razzmatazz in Barcelona, Montreux Jazz Festival and in many other cities in Europe.
Besides djing, Daria produces her own music since few years. As a producer she took part in Perspectiv Records (Ripperton’s label), in 2008 she joined the Cadenza family and recently she released her first solo ep on lomidhigh lmtd records (Danemark), sharinroaster with artists like Martinez, Jay Haze, Funzion, Gurtz, Dario Zenker, etc.
Her music elegantly shifts between the lightness of warm percussions and the shinny tension of bright arpeggiated melodies, assuring the excitement of the dancer aswell the emotion of the listener. Tight grooves delicately integrated into a fulfilling musical experience.
